The campaign against Rugby airport has the support of all the major political parties.
West Midlands Euro-MP Liz Lynne marched with thousands of concerned people in Rugby on Sunday to protest against proposals to build an airport between Rugby and Coventry.
The Liberal Democrat MEP said:
"It was marvellous seeing so many people standing up to be counted on this issue. The strength of feeling against this airport proposal is immense. If Alastair Darling decided to go ahead now, with almost universal opposition from the aviation industry, business, environmental groups and local people, it would be a travesty."
"People still have a few weeks to take part in the formal consultation. I would urge everyone who has not done so already to contact the Department for Transport and request a copy of the consultation document."
