Liz with West Midlands Chamber of Commerce Delegates in Brussels
Liz Lynne, Member of the European Parliament for the West Midlands and Vice-President of the Employment and Social Affairs Committee, met with West Midlands business leaders last week to discuss European labour law.
The MEP hosted a dinner for the delegation from the Confederation of West Midlands Chambers of Commerce, which represents some 13,000 businesses across the region, during a working visit to Brussels. They met to discuss the Confederation's recent submission on the European Commission's Green Paper on Labour Law, amongst other issues that affect them. Speaking after the event, she said:
"I welcome the recent formal response by the West Midlands business leaders. It is vital that the region's businesses feed into European issues which will ultimately affect them."
"What we have achieved by working together provides a vital link between local concerns and the practical workings of the European Union, demonstrating that local interests have a strong voice at European level. Such consultations give good opportunities to best represent my constituents."
